I founded Digital Charity Lab (formerly Irish Charity Lab) in 2014 – it’s a not-for-profit, social enterprise that is helping charities and causes around the world to build their digital skills.
I was inspired to set up this organisation through my own passion for digital, and how it can be used for progressive causes. There is a huge amount of creativity and energy in the charity sector, but it is often difficult to find expert training in digital skills at affordable rates. Digital Charity Lab aims to meet this need, and also foster collaboration and knowledge sharing between organisations.
Digital Charity Lab is managed by me and operates as a collective of experts. We provide free resources through the website DigitalCharityLab.org, which can be used by charities all over the world, and we run regular workshops in Dublin for non-profits.
We have worked with over 120 non-profits since 2014, including some of Ireland’s largest charities (Trocaire, Barnardos, the Irish Cancer Society, Concern, SVP) and some of its best known cultural institutions (Science Gallery, The National Concert Hall).
I was honoured to receive a Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Elevator Award for Digital Charity Lab.
